Composer of Iconic Konkani Song ‘Ye Ye Katrina’ Henry D’Souza Passes Away at 83
Mangaluru: Veteran Konkani musician, composer and singer Henry D’Souza, best known for composing the iconic Konkani song ‘Ye Ye Katrina’, passed away at his residence in Mumbai on August 14. He was 83.
Born in 1943 in Chikkamagaluru, Henry D’Souza later moved to Mumbai, where he built a distinguished career in Konkani music. His contribution to the Konkani music scene spanned several decades, earning him a special place among music lovers.
Henry D’Souza shot to fame with popular compositions such as ‘Ye Ye Katrina’ and ‘Ami Dogi Sezara’, which became widely known among Konkani music enthusiasts. His melodious compositions and distinctive musical style helped popularise Konkani music among audiences in India and abroad.
