Daniel Monteiro Wins Two Silver Medals at World Philatelic Exhibitions
Brahmavar: Renowned philatelist and Guinness World Record holder Daniel Monteiro has brought further laurels to the region by winning two Silver Medals at the prestigious World Philatelic Exhibitions held in 2026.

Monteiro won his first Silver Medal at BOSTON-2026, the World Philatelic Exhibition held in Boston from May 23 to 30, 2026, for his thematic stamp collection on ducks. He followed this achievement with another Silver Medal at MACAU-2026, held in Macau from June 26 to July 1, 2026, for his collection on peacocks.
A retired Office Superintendent of S.M.S. College, Brahmavar, Monteiro has consistently distinguished himself in the field of philately. He is a recipient of both the Guinness World Record and the Limca Book of Records, besides being honoured with the District Rajyotsava Award. Over the years, he has won more than 20 medals at international philatelic exhibitions held across several countries.
Monteiro has also received numerous district, state, and national-level awards and recognitions for his outstanding contributions to philately. He remains actively associated with several philatelic organisations, including the Manipal Philatelic and Numismatic Club (MPNC), MAHE Manipal, Dakshina Kannada Philatelic and Numismatic Association (DAKAPANA), Mangaluru, Karnataka Philatelic Club (KPS), Bengaluru, and the South India Philatelic Association (SIPA), Chennai.
In addition to his accomplishments as a collector and exhibitor, Monteiro has made significant contributions to public awareness through education. He has organised more than 240 philatelic exhibitions on birds at schools, colleges, and various organisations, using thematic stamp collections to promote environmental awareness and an appreciation of biodiversity.
His latest international achievements further underscore his dedication, expertise, and lifelong contribution to the field of thematic philately and stamp collecting.
