District Congress Celebrates victory in By-elections 

 
Udupi: Party workers and leaders of district Congress celebrated the victory in the Nanjangud and Gudlupete By-elections on Thursdary April 13.
A Significant number of party workers gathered at the Clock tower near the Service bus-stand and rejoiced shouting victory slogans and waving party flags. Crackers were busted and sweets were also distributed.

Women Congress District President Veronica Carnelio said that Congress party’s victory in by-elections is the prelude to the victory of Congress in 2018 assembly polls. Udupi-Chickmanglur MP Shobha Karandlaje has disappeared from Udupi constituency ruining the development of Udupi. She was busy campaigning for elections while her constituency is deprived from the schemes implemented by central government. Her presence in the district is only reflected through media while her efforts to be amidst people is in vain. The victory in by-elections is the victory of the people, she added.

Congress leader and Chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authority Narasimhamurthy said the efforts held by BJP to ruin Congress has ruined them in by-elections. The credit of victory goes to party workers, leaders and high command. The developmental initiatives held  by CM Siddaramaih government has led to victory in the by-elections.

Expressing his happiness party leaders thanked the voters and said that the election results showed the faith of people on the State government.
Party leaders Prakyath Shetty, Harish Kini, Meenakshi Madhava Bannaje, Janadhan Bhandarkar, Neeraj Patil, Veronica Cornelio, Yathish Karkera, Narashimamurty, Ramesh Kanchan, Celina Karkada, Joythi Hebbar, Chandrika Shetty and others were present.
