“Dreams on Wheels” Kicks Off With An Interactive Session At Mullakad Govt High School

Mangalore : The State-wide tour to connect with students of Government Schools, “Dreams on Wheels” initiated by former journalist Srinivasan Nandagopal began with an interactive session on Exam Preparedness and Career Orientation for class X students of Mullakad Government High School.

The bike tour informally rode out of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Mangalore (KVM) in Panambur, the alma mater of Nandagopal with wishes from students led by Principal Mr Tekchand Bhardwaj.

The session at Mullakad School focused on tips to handle the pressures of the Tenth standard board Examinations that are due in March next year. Principal of the school Usman Guthigar was present on the occasion.

Later, Nandagopal met the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) Mr. Shashidhar and held discussions along with some Principals on the performance of Government Schools in Dakshina Kannada district.

“Dreams on Wheels” is an ambitious project with multiple objectives covering a distance of over 5,000 kms through all the 31 districts of Karnataka, estimated to touch as many as 30,000 students.

While the primary focus is on reaching out to 10th Std students of Government Schools to motivate them to face their future, Nandagopal also intends to visit to Government Primary Schools to observe their functioning and some Private Schools to gain inputs on best practices. He will also be meeting DDPIs to gather inputs on the overall performance of Government Schools in each district.

Meeting stakeholders, including People Representatives, Voluntary Organizations, Philanthropists, Corporate Heads, Teachers etc., to discuss how to improve the environment of Government Schools, is also part of the objectives of the initiative.
