Eco-friendly Biscuit Ganesha idol wins the Heart of Public

Udupi: A Ganesha idol made using as many as 15 KG biscuits is the star of attraction in Udupi. On the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi, a Biscuit Ganesha sculpture was created by Venki Palimar, Srinath Manipal and Ravi Hirebettu with the support of Manohar Shetty Udupi on August 24.

The three artists spent three days to prepare this Ganesha idol which is nine feet high and five feet wide.

The artists have been creating unique Ganesha Idols from the last 3 years. Earlier they had created a Paper Cup Ganesha by using 5000 paper cups and another Ganesha Idol using handicrafts such as bamboo baskets, mats, rice filter, trays, banana tree products, areca nut leaf products, coconut shell rope and such eco-friendly materials.

The public can visit to view this creation from morning 10:00 am to evening 7:00 pm until August 27 at the Sai Radha TVS showroom.
