Eid-al-Adha Celebrated with Gaiety and Devotion at Kudroli Jamia Masjid
Mangaluru: Eid-al-Adha, one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar, was celebrated with great enthusiasm, religious fervour, and a deep sense of community at Kudroli Jamia Masjid. Devotees from various parts of the region gathered early in the morning to offer the special Eid prayer, marking the beginning of the day’s celebrations.
Among the congregation was Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Shameer Ahmed Kudroli, a well-known student counsellor, who joined the prayer along with his sons — Dr. Hisham S Ahmed, Sufiyan S Ahmed, and Shehzan S Ahmed — as well as close relatives and friends. Their presence added a familial warmth to the spiritual atmosphere.
The prayer service was solemn and reflective, as the Imam led the congregation in remembering the essence of Eid-al-Adha. The festival commemorates the unwavering faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), who was willing to sacrifice his son in submission to God’s command. Just as Prophet Ibrahim prepared to carry out the divine instruction, God replaced his son with a ram, symbolizing the value of faith and sacrifice.
Eid-al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” coincides with the culmination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It holds immense spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. In keeping with the tradition, many families performed the Qurbani (ritual animal sacrifice), sharing the meat in three parts — one-third for the family, one-third for relatives and friends, and one-third for the less fortunate, reinforcing the values of charity and community support.
The Kudroli Jamia Masjid was alive with joy and unity, as people exchanged greetings of Eid Mubarak, embraced one another, and shared festive meals. Delicious dishes such as biryani, kebabs, and sweets were prepared in households, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and celebration.
The spirit of Eid-al-Adha at Kudroli Jamia Masjid was a true reflection of devotion, compassion, and harmony — reminding everyone of the timeless values of sacrifice, gratitude, and kindness toward fellow human beings.
