Energy Minister K. J. George Engages with Jeevanahalli Residents, Reviews Infrastructure Projects During Padayatra
Bengaluru: Karnataka’s Energy Minister and MLA for the Sarvagnanagar constituency, K. J. George, conducted a padayatra in Jeevanahalli today, directly engaging with residents to address their concerns. Minister George emphasized the fundamental responsibility of public representatives to ensure basic infrastructure, enabling citizens to live with dignity, and reaffirmed his commitment to this cause.

Throughout the padayatra across Jeevanahalli, the Minister meticulously reviewed ongoing development projects, urging officials to expedite their completion. He actively sought feedback from residents regarding critical issues such as drinking water access, electricity supply, road conditions, the progress of housing schemes, and strategies for managing traffic congestion. Minister George issued directives to officials, mandating the timely completion of all pending works within the constituency.
A significant focus of the padayatra was the review of housing schemes in Jeevanahalli. The Minister inspected a newly constructed residential complex designed for individuals engaged in traditional occupations, instructing officials to prioritize providing essential amenities. He also visited housing construction sites at Muddappa Garden, Chettappa Garden, and Gangman Quarters, directing contractors to accelerate the multi-story housing project undertaken by the Slum Development Board.
Addressing requests from women for additional housing units, Minister George assured them that more houses were under construction, with allotments prioritized for those currently without housing.
At High Street Park, Minister George convened a meeting with representatives from the Cooke Town Residents’ Association to receive a detailed list of their concerns and demands. He instructed relevant officials to replace outdated and damaged transformers by the end of March.
Furthermore, the Minister directed police officials to utilize MLA Local Area Development funds to install CCTV cameras throughout Jeevanahalli, ensuring continuous monitoring through the nearest police station to enhance community safety.
The Energy Minister also visited a skill development training center operated by the Kelachandra Foundation in Jeevanahalli, where he interacted with trainees and pledged his support to the center’s head. Afterward, he visited an anganwadi and a lower primary school in Sathy Nagar, which Embassy Golf Links Business Park supported, and spoke with the children, observing their learning environment.
During the Ramzan observances, Minister George visited Kammanahalli, within the Sarvagnanagar constituency, to join members of the Muslim community for afternoon prayers. He actively participated in a food kit distribution program, organized under the leadership of Baba Ali Khan, distributing essential food supplies to hundreds of women attending the event.
The padayatra was attended by prominent local leaders, including Raghu Devaraj, Chakravarthy, Asha, Roopa, along with Minister Special Officers, and officials from GBA, Bangalore Water Supply Board, BESCOM, and the Police Department.
