Family of Four Die after Car Falls into Pond in Puttur
Puttur: In a tragic incident four people from a family died after the car in which they were travelling lost control and fell into the pond at Kavu here on September 2.
The deceased have been identified to be members of a family from Shuntikoppa.
According to sources, the family had come to Mangaluru and on September 2 were returning to Shuntikoppa. When the car in which they were travelling reached near Kavu, the driver of the car lost control and the car jumped out fell into the pond killing all the four occupants in it.
Sampya police have registered a case and are investigating.
The locals allege that the pond is on the side of the road and poses danger to the road users. The owner of the private pond he is not ready to close it nor has taken any safety measures. Now the pond has claimed four innocent lives.
