Father Muller College of Nursing Students Spearhead Plantation and Cleaning Drive

Mangaluru: The Swachh Bharat club of Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON), in conjunction with the Community Health Nursing department and Vana Charitable Trust(R), Mangaluru, recently undertook a two-day plantation and cleaning initiative. The program, held on May 31st, 2025, and June 25th, 2025, focused on the Pilikula and Moodushedde areas of Vamanjoor.

Under the direction of Mr. Jeeth Milan Roche and his team, participants successfully planted 500 saplings and carried out a thorough cleaning drive within the designated locales. The initial day of the initiative saw the participation of 50 students from the IV-year BSc Nursing program, along with 4 faculty members. The second day involved 20 students and 2 faculty members.

In a gesture of support for the environmental cause, FMCON donated 100 plants to Vana Charitable Trust(R). Ms. Priya Pereira, Chairperson of the Swachh Bharat club, led the planning and execution of the entire program. The initiative underscores FMCON’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.
