Father Muller Medical College hosts 10th Annual AMBKCCON
Mangalore: The Department of Biochemistry, Father Muller Medical College, Kankanady, hosted the inauguration of the 10th Annual State Level Conference—AMBKCCON 2025—under the aegis of the Association of Medical Biochemists Karnataka Chapter. Themed “Insight into Women’s Health: Biochemical Frontiers in Women’s Wellness,” the conference was held on May 22, 2025, at 10:15 AM in the Decennial Memorial Hall, Knowledge Centre.
The event was graced by Dr. Barnali Das, Lead Consultant in Laboratory Medicine at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute, Mumbai, who served as the Chief Guest. The inauguration was presided over by Rev Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI).
The inaugural program commenced with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Maitreyee DS, Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry, FMMC. The dignitaries then formally inaugurated the conference with ceremonial lamp lighting. Dr. Barnali Das, in her address, emphasized the crucial role of biochemistry in advancing women’s health and wellness, highlighting recent innovations and the need for continued research in this field. Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho delivered the presidential address, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and underlining the significance of such academic platforms in shaping future medical professionals.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Shailaja A. Katti, Professor of Biochemistry and Organizing Secretary. The event concluded with the institutional anthem.
The conference had five pre-conference workshops, a series of scientific sessions, poster and oral presentations, and a PG quiz, focusing on cutting-edge biochemical research in women’s health, drawing participation from biochemists and medical professionals across the state. In the conference, delegates from Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, and Telangana had come.
