Father Muller Thumbay Campus welcomes Nursing & Allied Health Students
Mangaluru: The Course Inauguration Ceremony of the 5th batch of B.Sc. Nursing at Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay (FMNCT) and the 3rd batch of Allied Health Science courses at Father Muller Allied Health Sciences Thumbay (FMAHST) was held on October 9, 2026, in the Florence Nightingale Hall of FMNCT.

The programme began with a ceremonial procession led by the College Band, followed by an invocation through a prayer dance presented by the B.Sc. Nursing students. Paying tribute to the founder of the institution, the dignitaries offered floral tributes to Rev. Fr. Augustus Muller. Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, Principal, FMNCT, welcomed the gathering.
The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge and wisdom. The courses were formally inaugurated by unveiling a butterfly emerging from a cocoon. The symbolic presentation represented nurturing, transformation, growth, and the students’ journey from foundational learning to becoming competent healthcare professionals.
The course was inaugurated in the presence of Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI; Rev. Fr Rohan Michael Dias, Administrator, FMNCT & FMAHST; Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, Principal, FMNCT; Dr. Pauline Anand, Principal, FMAHST; Prof. Janet Sequeira, Vice Principal, FMNCT; Mrs. Sushma Rodrigues and Mr. Hemanth K, Course coordinators, along with student representatives.
Prof. Janet Sequeira presented an overview of the institute, followed by the presidential address from the Director, FMCI. In the presidential address, the director emphasized the importance of dedication, compassion, discipline, and professional responsibility among healthcare professionals. In addition, he highlighted the perseverance of the faculty, management, and students, which has led to greater milestones, and also insisted that the new entrants seize new opportunities with determination.
The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Pauline Anand, Principal, FMAHST, followed by the Institutional Anthem. Following the inaugural ceremony, a Parent–Teacher–Student Orientation Programme was organised for the newly admitted students and their parents.
The inauguration marked the beginning of an important journey for the new students as they embark on professional education.
