Five Interstate Thieves Arrested in Talapady

Mangaluru: Five interstate thieves with weapons were arrested by the South Sub-division Anti Rowdy Squad along with the Ullal Police in connection with an attempt to a theft case.

The arrested have been identified as Sujith G (24), Saleem (30), Anas (21), Mohammed Sherif (25) and Mohammed Fazil (24) all from Athiyoor Trissur.

According to the police, on February 26, the accused were trying to carry out a theft near Talapady. They were carrying weapons including knives, iron rods, wooden clubs, gum tape rolls in the Suzuki WagonR with a changed number plate.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that in order to lead a lavish life they were involved in crime. They were using the WagonR car by changing the original registration number KL 08 BR 8439 and using the fake number plate KL 54 J 8892.

It is also revealed that accused Mohammed Fazil is involved in various crimes and 4 theft cases have been registered against him in the Thrissur police station. The police have arrested all the five and seized the weapons along with the car all worth Rs 4 lakh from their possession.

The operation was carried out by the South ACP, South Sub Division Anti Rowdy Squad and the Ullal police.
