Flying high and painting the skies of Al Ain

Al Ain: Daring Stunts and mid -air manoeuvres by Courageous pilots using vintage and modern flying aircrafts,  enthralled spectators  during the Al Ain air show held at Al Ain   International Airport.



This great event has been jointly organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and the UAE Air Force and Air Defence with the cooperation of the FAI (Federation Aeronautique Internationale) from 26th till 30th January 2007.



Pilot teams from United States, Europe  , South Africa  , Jordan and Saudi Arabia  took part in this event. The show  featured  aerobatic manoeuvres by Russian fighter jets including MiG-29s, and SU27s, Royal Jordanian Falcons and Saudi Hawks. Flights and manoeuvres of radio control aircraft added an extra flavour to the show.



An outfit of the world’s first astronaut, Yuri Gagarin from Russia, the first satellite, and training equipments of astronauts  were displayed at the Russian Space Museum  for visitors to feel and have a glimpse.



Khalfan Al Shamsi chief marketing and public relations manager of  Abu Dhabi National Hotels Tourism and co-ordinator of the Al Ain Aerobatics Show, spoke to our team member and  said the event was aimed at promoting Al Ain ? the   garden city of the Arabian Gulf , and the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Around 150,000 spectators throng the city of Al Ain  every year just  to witness this event he said.  Alain, which is a part of Abu Dhabi is well known for its rich cultural heritage and tourist spots like the Al Ain Museum, Zoo, Jebel Hafeet  Mountain, and Green Mubazzarah. Our main motto and objective  is  to promote Al Ain  as a tourism destination through events like these, he added with a  smile on his face.
