FMMC Simulation and Skills Centre certified by American Heart Assn.

Simulation and Skills Centre at Fr Muller Medical College has been certified has been accredited by American Heart Association to conduct authorized Life Saving Courses, which will commence sometime during the 1st week of November 2016.

Mangaluru: Yet another feather in the cap for Fr Muller Medical College, where the Simulation and Skills centre has been accredited international training center for conducting American Heart Association (AHA) life saving courses. This information was briefed to the media persons during the press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, where Dr Rithesh Joseph D’Cunha- the Administrative In-Charge of the Centre said, ” The Centre was started last November and will turn turn one year next month. We are happy to announce that American Heart association, a a not for profit organization has accredited this Centre to conduct authorized Lifesaving Courses namely – Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)”

Also speaking during the press meet, Dr Sreedhara Avabhratha, director of the AHA courses for the center said, ” Father Muller Medical College is the first medical college in the city and the fourth in Karnataka to be accredited the AHA authorized international training center. The center has qualified AHA instructors for these mentioned courses from their in-house faculty and the center is equipped to conduct courses for larger group of learners. The center is also committed to create awareness on Basic Life Support to the non-health care community in this area. At present the courses will be offered only to the Health Care personnel, namely Doctors, Nurses and medical staff, but later we will offer these courses to the general public”.

“The Courses are free of charge, but we will only charge for the books, equipment, tools etc pertaining to the course which may cost between Rs 2500-3000. It is just a one-day course. Dr Lulu Sherif will be training centre coordinator. for more details call : 0824- 2238441 ” added Dr Sreedhara.
