Four More Arrested in Baikampady Robbery Case

Surathkal: Surathkal police have arrested four more persons in connection with the robbery of Kerala-based jewellery businessman Vikas in Baikampady.

The arrested have been identified as Mithun Lal and Srirag, both from Kannur in Kerala, and Ubaid and Ziyad from Madikeri, police said.

Mithun Lal, Ubaid and Ziyad were arrested when they arrived at a Mangaluru court along with their lawyers to file applications for anticipatory bail. Srirag, meanwhile, reportedly surrendered before the police along with his lawyer.

Police have seized an Innova and a Swift car allegedly used in the crime, an iron rod and a 10-gram gold ring belonging to the businessman, among other items.

Police have identified 13 persons allegedly involved in the robbery, including the prime accused, Shijin Gangadharan. Seven of them have been arrested so far, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused, police said.
