Free Treatment for Coronavirus infected in Medical College Hospitals – Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary

Mangaluru: “The Coronavirus infected patients should be treated free of cost in all the medical college hospitals in the district”, said the District minister In-charge Kota Srinivas Poojary in a press statement here on July 13.

Kota Srinivas Poojary after visiting the KMC hospital and its protocol and procedures of treating the COVID patients, said, “BPL, APL card holding families, migrant workers, and those without ration card can take the treatment free of cost at the medical college hospitals in the district. The corona infected patients should show their Aadhar card at the medical college hospitals to obtain free treatment. “

Kota Srinivas further said, “The treatment in District Wenlock hospital will continue for the corona positive patients. The recovery rate in the district is very good, with more patients being discharged every day. People should not panic as the government is committed to protecting them”.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “There are several complaints against the private hospitals charging in excess to the Corona infected patients. If any hospital charges more than the government rates, action will be taken against those hospitals. “

Nalin Kumar Kateel further said, “Hospitals should display the rates fixed by the government and the public should be informed. If there is an emergency for surgery, the hospital should carry out the surgery instead of waiting for the COVID test report.”

MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, “The private hospitals should treat the COVID patients at government fixed rates and create awareness among the people about COVID-19. The grievances of the COVID patients should be heard”.
