Fuddar Prathisttan (R) Hosts ‘Fuddar Prathisttan Puraskar-2026’ to Honor Academic Excellence
Mangaluru: Fuddar Prathisttan (R) convened the ‘Fuddar Prathisttan Puraskar-2026’ on Sunday, March 22nd, at the Milagres Jubilee Hall in Mangaluru. The event recognized and celebrated the accomplishments of high-achieving students from the Mangaluru and Udupi dioceses.

A total of 288 Catholic students were felicitated for their outstanding performance in SSLC, PUC, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies, as well as various competitive examinations. The program commenced with Rev. Dr. Alwyn Serrao, Principal of Milagres PU College, lighting the lamp to mark the official inauguration. Nigel Pereira, President of Fuddar Prathisttan, presided over the ceremony. Dignitaries present included Chief Guest and keynote speaker, Dr. Ronald Nazareth, Registrar of St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Secretary Vivid D’Souza, and management committee member Harry Rego.
In his inaugural address, Rev. Dr. Alwyn Serrao congratulated all the award recipients and their parents. He underscored the significance of pursuing studies in basic sciences and aspiring to attain scientific-level positions. Dr. Serrao encouraged students to consider unconventional paths, remain in the country, maintain strong family connections, lead lives grounded in values, and contribute to society in every possible capacity.
In his keynote address, Dr. Ronald Nazareth lauded Fuddar Prathistan Trust for organizing the event, which served as a platform to honor and motivate the achievers. He emphasized the critical need for individuals to consider teaching as a profession, becoming educators who impart sound values to future generations. Dr. Nazareth urged students to participate in competitive examinations and strive for the highest administrative positions within India.
Speaking on behalf of the felicitated students, Jenisha Shera and Renita D’Souza shared their personal success stories and expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the felicitation program.
Vivid D’Souza, the secretary, delivered the vote of thanks. The management committee members and donors who generously supported the event’s success were also recognized and honored. Appreciation was expressed for the support and suggestions provided by Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh President Santhosh D’Souza and Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh President Ronald Dalmeida.
Vanisha Santhmayor and Melisha Correa served as comperes for the event. The program concluded with a luncheon.
