The publishing firm launched its latest offering, Pulimunchi, a 4-volume anthology of humour limericks in Tulu, penned by Kodu Bhoja Shetty, a noted writer. Pulimunchi in Tulu means ‘sour-and-spicy’, which is also a recipe for spicy dishes in Tulunadu.

The launching function was held in the Siri Chaavadi of the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy’s Tulu Bhavana premises near Urwa Stores on Wednesday. The publication has been supported by the Academy.

Renowned writer Bola Chittaranjandas Shetty, speaking on the occasion, said that Tulu literature being rich, a large number of books were being launched. Hence he urged all Tuluvas to develop an interest in reading their literature.

Academy president Janaki Brahmavar, writers Muddu Moodubelle, N P Shetty Mulki, Umesh Rao Yekkar, entrepreneur Krishnappa Derebail, Kodettur Sachidananda Udupa, Gayatree Udupa and others were present on the occasion.

Journalist Sharat Shetty welcomed the gathering. Prakash Achar compered the programme.

The books are intended to be light reading. They make a pleasant blend of humour, satire, stark realities of the society and the like.
