Gentlemen Sodality of Immaculate Conception of BVM-Kodialbail Celebrates ‘Family Day’

Mangaluru: Family Day’ of the Sodality of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Gentlemen Sodality-Kodialbail), an Annual Programme was held on Sunday, 27th August, 2017. The celebrations began with a Holy Eucharist at the St Aloysius College Chapel. The Stage programme was organized in Auditorium hall.The Chief guest Fr Stanislaus D’Souza, Provincial, Karnataka Jesuit Province, Bangalore whose Five Cardinal Principles for a successful family left the congregation spell bound:- Time sense, patience, hospitality, spirituality and satisfaction. If these things exist in a family that family would be successful. Family is the basic church centre and from the family our society will be developed.

Rev Fr Dionysius Vaz, Rector, St Aloysius Institutions, Mangalore and the Ecclesiastical Vice Assistant of the Sodality in his message said that In family, children and youngsters should actively involve in all the activities. President- Melville Pinto welcomed the gathering, Secretary Ligoury Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks and Sushil Noronha, Convenor-Cultural Committee of the Sodality were present on the dais.

Nine spouses of the deceased members were the special invites for the function. Each of them was presented with a rose and a memento. Wenceslaus Pais, a cantor to the Sodality over 40 years and Dr Manuel Tauro who was conferred a Doctorate in May 2017 by Mangalore University for his thesis, were felicitated during the occasion. They were adorned by a shawl, a garland and a memento each. Two children of the members Hency D’souza and Claritus Reuben D’souza were honoured with a gift each for their academic excellence.

Separate Singing competitions were held for Member Couples and their children. The members entertained the audience with songs and short skit. Prayer dance was done by Callista Nikitha D’souza. The programme was compered by Seema Tauro.
