‘Giving Back Duathlon’ Sees Overwhelming Participation, Vedanth Raykar Honored
Bangalore: The “Giving Back Duathlon,” organized by the Sita Bhateja Charitable Trust, concluded today with remarkable success, attracting over 300 participants across its various events. The event, which included running, Individual Time Trial (ITT), and duathlon competitions, witnessed particularly strong engagement in the duathlon, with more than 200 athletes vying for top honors.

The duathlon, held around Bangalore’s Satellite Ring Road, featured a standout performance from 14-year-old Vedanth Raykar, a young athlete hailing from Mangalore. Raykar completed the challenging course in an impressive 1:33:10 hours. His performance was particularly notable in the 30km cycling leg, which he conquered in a swift 59 minutes, followed by a solid 6km run completed in 32 minutes. Vedanth’s father, Vinay Raykar, also participated in the duathlon, finishing with a commendable time of 1:24:16 hours.
In addition to his strong performance, Vedanth Raykar received special recognition from the organizers for his unwavering consistency and dedication to participating in races throughout Bangalore. Acknowledging his commitment to the sport, the Sita Bhateja Charitable Trust presented Raykar with a special mention award. Further supporting his future athletic endeavors, the Trust gifted him a premium SRAM bike computer, a tool designed to aid in tracking progress and maintaining motivation. The organizers expressed their hope that the bike computer would serve as a valuable asset in Raykar’s training and racing endeavors.
