Government Offices Closed, Employees Stage Protest
Mangaluru: A state-level protest was staged by the Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association by not attending work at their respective departments here on June 2.
The employees of Taluk Panchayat at Mini Vidhana Soudha did not attend the work and demanded the implementation of the seventh pay commission recommendations in the state.
Speaking to mangalorean.com one of the employees of women and child development department said that many states have implemented the Seventh Pay commission but the state government did not take any measures to bring the pay scale equal to the central government pay scale. He also said that we will not submit any memorandum to the government. It is a symbolic protest and all the employees will not carry out any work on June 2.
He also said that if the government will not implement the Seventh Pay Commission, we will intensify our protest in the coming days. Let the state government ensure us that they will not do any disparity in the pay scale of state and central government employees.
