Grand Welcome Extended to Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar at Mumbai Airport by Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti

Mumbai: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who arrived in Mumbai for a private engagement, received a warm and grand reception at Mumbai Airport on June 20 from the office bearers of the Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti (Regd.).

The felicitation ceremony was led by Thonse Jayakrishna A. Shetty, the founder of the organisation, which consistently engages in environmental conservation and the broader development of Coastal Karnataka. The reception reflected both respect for the Chief Minister and recognition of his public service and leadership.

Among those present were Samiti President Nityananda D. Kotian, State Coordinator K.P. Jagadish Adhikari, Vice Presidents I.R. Shetty and Felix D’Souza, and Hon. General Secretary Mundkur Surendra Salian. The delegation welcomed the Chief Minister with a floral bouquet and conveyed greetings on behalf of the Kannada community in Mumbai.

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar graciously accepted the welcome and appreciated the organisation’s dedication to environmental protection and social welfare initiatives. He also thanked the members for their warm reception at the airport.

It may be recalled that shortly after assuming office as Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar received a visit from Jayakrishna A. Shetty, during which he conveyed congratulations and held detailed discussions on the comprehensive development of Coastal Karnataka. The meeting underlined the importance of sustained attention to the region’s growth and welfare.

In a significant development, during a major review meeting on Coastal Karnataka tourism held in Bengaluru on June 19, the Chief Minister announced that the state government would soon convene a special Cabinet meeting in the coastal region. The proposed meeting is expected to focus on accelerating tourism growth, strengthening infrastructure, and advancing the region’s overall development agenda.

The announcement generated optimism among stakeholders and residents alike, raising hopes for renewed momentum in the development of Coastal Karnataka.
