Rome, April 4 (IANS) Besides acting, veteran actress Helen Mirren practices pomegranate farming.

The 70-year-old actress and her husband Taylor Hackford run a farm in Salento, Italy with over 400 pomegranate trees, reports okmagazine.com.

“Apart from acting, my other job is that of a pomegranate farmer. My husband and I have planted over 400 pomegranate trees and we’re producing juice for the market. The juice is delicious,” she said.

“Our little company is still in the early stages but we want to sell our juice in Italy and abroad. I love the people of Salento, I love Italy and I love the climate there. The first time I saw the full moon rising from the sea and shining on my pomegranates, I burst into tears,’ she added.

Even though she enjoys her life in the acting world, the “Eye in the Sky” star shared that it took a little while for her to settle in to her new home.

“At the beginning it was very complicated and I was getting discouraged, but one day I was sitting on a bench and I saw a man passing by on a bicycle. For some reason that moment touched my heart. I thought this is where I belong,” she said.

Martin Freeman trusts men who care about fashion!

London, April 4 (IANS) Actor Martin Freeman, who loves clothes and shoes, says that he likes people who have an affinity for good clothes and immediately tends to trust them.

“I like people who like clothes. I immediately trust men who are into clothes, even though they could turn out to be horrible people. There is an intelligence about caring about what you wear,” The Times newspaper’s Luxx menswear supplement quoted Freeman as saying, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“I was always into fashion and, as I’ve got older, it’s got worse. I know there are more important things in the world. Outside my normal life, aside from music, it’s where most of my energy goes. I’m not very proud of that. Some people’s energy goes on saving Syrian refugees. Mine goes on shoes,” he added.

The 44-year-old actor described his fashion addiction as a “sickness”, and shared that it infuriates his partner of 16 years, Amanda Abbington.

“I can’t leave the house unless I’m happy with my appearance. It’s a sickness. It’s a nightmare for Amanda,” he said.

Will.i.am says women put him in ‘friend zone’

Los Angeles, April 4 (IANS) Rapper Will.i.am says that he finds it hard to get into a relationship because all the girls he knows, don’t want to “ruin” their friendship with him.

“If you are close to mom, if you’re nice, you listen more than you talk – for some reason the girls never want a relationship. The girls say, ‘I never want to ruin this’,” Will.i.am told telegraph.co.uk.

The 41-year-old musician said he wants to have a family one day but shared that he already feels as though he has adopted children in a “roundabout way” through his work with the local communities where he grew up.

“What do you mean by family? DNA swapping or do you mean encouragement, moral installing and opportunity providing? To me, that is just as much family as DNA swapping because I am a product of a DNA swap and I don’t know who my dad is,” he said.

“There are a whole lot of babies that ain’t got no parents. I am not quite ready to Angelina Jolie it yet, but I have kids that I have kinda adopted in a roundabout way,” Will.i.am added.

Kerry Katona partied with convicted murderer?

London, April 4 (IANS) Singer Kerry Katona reportedly enjoyed a night out with a convicted murderer.

The singer was spotted partying with Kevin Lane, who spent 18 years in prison “for shooting dead a car dealer in 1994” and the pair left a central London venue “arm in arm and kissing”, reports mirror.co.uk.

“There was an instant connection between Kevin and Kerry. She was very wrapped up in him and they left arm in arm and kissing. But it’s the last thing she needs now. If she’d had an inkling she wouldn’t have gone near him,” a source said.

“She’s had her fill of men with dodgy pasts. She really is trying to clean up her image and she is mortified that this has happened. Kerry had never met him before that evening. He was invited by a friend of a friend to join their group for part of the evening. She certainly had no idea of his history,” the source added.

Katona was previously married to Westlife singer Brian McFadden; taxi driver Mark Croft, who has admitted to running a cannabis farm; and rugby star George Kay, who is currently awaiting trial for allegedly attacking her with a taser.

Madonna slammed by son?

Los Angeles, April 4 (IANS) Madonna’s son Rocco has reportedly branded his mother a “b****”, according to an Instagram account in his name.

While 15-year-old Rocco, whose father is Guy Ritchie, deleted his account on the photo-sharing app earlier this year, a new account set up in his name describes him as a “son of a b****”, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The account is private but features a closeup of Rocco’s face as the profile picture. It is not clear if the Instagram page has been set up by him or not.

Madonna and Guy are currently locked in a custody battle over Rocco, who left his mother’s world tour last year to live in London with his father.

“If this is his new account then clearly comments like this show he’s in a delicate place and highlights the fact he needs to be in an equally supportive relationship with both parents,” said a source.

“The fact it has been set up at all, even if it is just a prank by one of his friends, shows how public their feud has become. For Madonna, it is proof their relationship needs to get back on track as soon as possible,” source added.
