Hemmadi: Missing College Student Found Dead

Kundapura: Tragedy struck in Hemmadi when 17-year-old Namesh Poojary, a first-year PU student at a private college, was found dead on Saturday morning. Namesh had gone missing since Thursday evening after leaving college without returning home. His family had gifted him an iPhone recently, but he had left it at home, taking only his bike. The vehicle and his college bag were later discovered abandoned near the Kannadakudru river bank.

An intensive search operation was launched after Namesh’s family lodged a complaint at the Kundapura Town Police Station. The Fire and Emergency Services team, local swimmer Dinesh Kharvi, and other residents joined the search efforts, scouring the Kannadakudru river on Friday. Sadly, Namesh’s body was recovered on Saturday morning in the Dakuhitlu river in Gangolli.

The cause of death remains unknown, pending a police investigation. Namesh is survived by his father, Lavesh Poojary, who resides in Santosh Nagar, Hemmadi.¹
