High Drama at Dakshina Kannada KDP Meeting as BJP MLAs Clash with Minister U.T. Khader

Minister asks BJP MLA Bharat Shetty not to “behave childishly” while discussing serious issues

Mangaluru: A heated exchange between Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister U.T. Khader and BJP MLAs during the KDP (Karnataka Development Programme) meeting created a tense atmosphere for some time.

During the meeting, Khader called for discussions on various serious issues concerning the district. Expressing displeasure over the conduct of the BJP MLAs, he told BJP MLA Bharat Shetty not to “behave childishly” and urged the members to focus on the issues before the meeting.

“There are serious issues. Let us discuss them. Do not behave childishly,” Khader told Shetty.

The minister’s remark drew strong objections from the BJP MLAs. They questioned how allegations of corruption could be described as “childish” when they were raising serious concerns.

Bharat Shetty subsequently launched a strong verbal attack against Khader, arguing that allegations of corruption and other serious issues should not be dismissed lightly.

The heated exchange between the minister and the BJP MLAs led to a brief period of high drama during the KDP meeting before the proceedings continued.
