HJV and VHP Stage Protest Against Arrest of Jagadish Karanth

Mangaluru: The Hindu Jagarana Vedike and Vishwa Hindu Parishath jointly staged a protest condemning the arrest of HJV leader Jagadish Karanth in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha here on October 11.

Addressing the protesters Joint Secretary of VHP Shivanand Mendon said, “After the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah came to power there is no justice. If the Hindu activists ask for justice they will be booked under criminal cases. The government is using the police department to book cases against the Hindu activists for demanding justice. We condemn the anti-Hindu policy of the Congress government. The government is appeasing the minority for vote bank, Instead of arresting those who are involved in cow trafficking and illegal cattle slaughtering, the police are arresting the Gau Rakshaks.”

Shivanand Mendon further said, “The protest is being held in 100 places simultaneously in the twin districts to demand the government to stop atrocities against the Hindu activists. The home minister had ordered the arrest of Jagadish Karanth for delivering a speech and from Bengaluru, the police changed 5 vehicles to bring Jagadish Karanth to Udupi after arresting him. The police wanted to send him to jail but the Judge realized that Jagadish Karanth was innocent and granted bail. The Siddaramaiah government is trying to finish of Hindu Jagarana leaders one by one.”

Shivanand also said, “The atrocities on Hindu activists should be stopped. The government should stop appeasing the minority for vote bank and treat every citizen of Karnataka equally.”

In Mangaluru the protest has been staged in 14 places simultaneously. Gopal Kuthar, Praveen Kuthar, Vasanth Shetty, Sandeep Shetty, Sharan Shetty Kanduka, Ravi Suvarna and others were also present.
