HJV, BD, VHP stage protest against State Govts Anti-Hindu Policies

Udupi: The activists of Hindu Jagarana Vedike and Bajrang Dal staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday, October 11, condemning the assault on members of Hindu organisations and the government’s attempts to curb Hindu religious activities in the state.

Sunil K R co-convener of Mangaluru division of Bajrang Dal addressing the protesters said that the state government has been deliberately hurting the sentiments of millions of Hindus. Innocent Hindu activists are being tortured in fake cases. Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy had directed the police to slap cases against HJV leader Jagadish Karanth and arrest him. This was nothing but a ploy to consolidate the Muslim vote bank for the Congress. The Police Department too was carrying out this order and treating Karanth like a hardcore criminal. This was nothing short of “government terrorism”, he said.

Recently a person insulted the statue of Deyi Baidethi, mother of warrior twins Koti-Chennayya at Mupinadka. Even though the police have arrested a person in this connection, they have not made any headway in their investigations of finding others who were with the youth when he desecrated the statue of Deyi and posted it on Facebook.” This single act has hurt the feelings of a large section of Hindus and Hindu organisations, he added.

The Siddaramaiah government is directly supporting ‘terror outfits’ like the SDPI and PFI in the State for vote bank. The role of Muslim fundamentalists is clear in the murder of every pro-Hindu activist and the government is supporting them.

There has also been an increase in cattle trafficking and added that this has hurt the sentiments of the Hindus. He said that Hindu organisations have strongly condemned all these incidents. He also condemned the Congress government’s anti-Hindu policies such as withdrawal of anti-cow slaughter bill, encouraging illegal cattle trafficking etc. The government has been treating Hindus as third-class citizens in order appease the Muslim community. The Siddaramaiah-led Congress government is misusing the police to control Hindu outfits.

Later the activists submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner to be forwarded to the Karnataka Governor.

Gitanjali Suvarna, Dinesh Mendon, Santhosh Suvarana and others were also present.
