Husainabba Murder Case, Judicial Custody Extended for 14days

Husainabba Murder Case, Judicial Custody Extended for 14days

Udupi: The Udupi additional Civil Judge has extended Judicial custody for 9 accused in the Husainabba murder case including SI D N Kumar on July 11.

Judicial custody for the accused which was until July 11 was extended by the Civil judge for another 14 days. Due to security reasons the accused were not produced before the court and the hearing was done from the jail through video conference.

11 persons were arrested in the Husainabba murder case. The district and sessions court had granted bail to Hiriyadka Police constable Mohan Kotwal and Bajrang Dal leader Prasad Kondadi on June 18.

The other accused, Hiriyadka SI D N Kumar, Jeep driver Gopal and the main accused Suresh Mendon, Chethan Acharya, Shailesh Shetty, Ganesh Naik, Umesh Shetty and Ratan Poojary are lodged in Karwar Jail whereas Deepak Hegde is in the Mangaluru Jail.

The accused Deepak Hegde has applied for bail and Advocate Arun Bangera is contesting the case. The hearing of the case has been postponed to July 13. Deepak Hegde is accused of informing the Bajrang Dal activists after selling the cattle to Husainabba.
