I won’t let my ‘passing’ pass: Saalumarada Thimmakka

Bengaluru: Apart from messages of “child lifters” floating around on social media, one more message that spread in the past few days was that noted environmentalist, Saalumarada Thimmakka, is no more.

But the nearly 100-year-old Thimmakka was not going to let it pass.

On Saturday morning, she made her way to the Police Commissioner’s office in the city, with her supporters, to lodge a complaint with the cybercrime cell against those who had “killed her” in the online space.

The complaint was filed by her foster son B.N. Umesh, who sought a probe into the messages and to ensure such messages are not circulated online.
