The Incubation Centre and Start-Up at Sahyadri College
Mangaluru: The incubation centre and start-up culture at the Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management is the initiative of Chairman, Manjunath Bhandary. Basically to hand hold and support the new innovative concept for the benefit of student community. The state-of- the art incubation centre is first of its kind in an academic institution. It is spread over an area of 20,000 sq ft.
The incubation centre has successfully accommodated start-ups in various verticals like:
· Information Technology – DATA ANALYTIC / MINING and CLOUD SPACE
· Electronics – IOT and PNEUMATICS
· Embedded systems – AUTOMATION INTERNET OF THINGS
· Mechanical – MAKERS HUB FOR PROJECTS

The incubation team provides extended services to student for a period of 24months post completion of the graduation at the institution.
Within a year of its inception, the incubation centre has incubated around 9 companies and has successfully transformed these into independent ventures today. This year, the incubation centre has added corporate entities into its centre to promote the synergy between the students and the corporate world. The students are benefited with real time experience of working in an organization as well as hands-on experience on the live projects. This has benefited the young incubates to get exposure and guidance from the corporate world. The incubation centre is poised to see a major growth this year by providing opportunities for the young entrepreneurs and increase the capacity to accommodate around 25 start-ups. The team is already identifying potential ideas from the various events being conducted to shortlist and promote the innovative ideas of the students.
