India Post Opens Postal Service Accounts for 17 Pairs of Twin Children/Students Studying in Same School (Sharada Ganapathi Vidya Kendra at Karangala, in the outskirts of Mangaluru)

Mangaluru: On Twins Day 2023, Team Mangalorean made an exclusive article about a School honouring 17 pairs of twins students/children studying at Sharada Ganapathi Vidya Kendra, Punyakoti Nagara, Kairangala, The school hosts 17 pairs of twins across various classes, ranging from LKG to class X. The academic year 2023 also witnessed the admission of four pairs of twins, prompting the school to recognise and honour all twins. The school strength is 914, with students studying in UKG to class XII. A similar function was conducted in 2021 when the school had 11 pairs of twins.

Now these twins are once again in the print and electronic media, India Post on Friday created a record of sorts when it provided a host of postal service accounts to 17 pairs of twin children of Sharada Ganapathi Vidya Kendra at Kairangala. The school that has dedicated itself to the service of rural children for the last 18 years has 914 students and comes under the jurisdiction of the Kairangala branch post office, said Mangaluru Division Senior Superintendent of Posts Sudhakar Mallya speaking to Team Mangalorean. Of these students, the 17 pairs of twin children also study in the school in different classes that could perhaps be a national record, he said.

India Post to promote the habit of thrift and savings, took up the initiative of opening Sukanya Samrudhi accounts, Mahila Samman Savings Bank Certificate scheme and Public Provident Funds accounts for these twin children with the guidance, support and sponsorship from the school correspondent T.G Rajaram Bhat. Opening of the accounts were done at a programme in the school premises The Mangaluru Postal Division earlier had opened the Mahila Samman Savings scheme accounts for five generations of women from the same family. The students of this school were educated about the features of different Postal Savings Schemes, Philately stamps and various other products. During the programme, school students were briefed about features of different postal savings schemes, philately stamps and other India Post products.

T.G. Rajaram Bhat Correspondent of the School presided over the function. Others present were, M. Sudhakara Mallya, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Mangaluru Division, P. Dinesh, Deputy Superintendent, Suresh, Inspector, Mangaluru South Sub Division, Naveen, Member of Taluk Panchayath, Jayaram Shetty, Director of Sahakari Bank, Principal of the school Shrihari, Officials of Postal Department Subhash Salian and Rohan Lewis. Postal Official Dayanand Katalsar of Tulunadu Vedike presented the function. This function was welcomed by Seraje Srinivas Bhat and the vote of thanks was proposed by Chandrakumar.
