It Is My Responsibility to Ensure Congress Wins All 8 Seats in Dakshina Kannada: Padmaraj R. Poojary
Mangaluru: Newly appointed Dakshina Kannada District Congress President Padmaraj R. Poojary has said that it will be his responsibility to ensure that the Congress wins all eight Assembly constituencies in Dakshina Kannada district in the 2028 elections.
Addressing a press conference in the city, Poojary said that when the Congress was previously in power, Dakshina Kannada and the coastal region were known for communal harmony, with people living in unity irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
“Congress should not have lost its strength in Dakshina Kannada. The voters have seen how the opposition parties have been winning elections here. We must restore the past glory of the Congress. When the Congress was in power in this region, significant development took place,” he said.
Poojary said he would personally reach out to party workers and supporters right down to the booth level. “There may be differences of opinion within the party for various reasons, but I will certainly work towards bringing everyone together,” he said.
“I will work with party leaders and workers to ensure that the Congress wins all eight constituencies in Dakshina Kannada district in the 2028 elections,” he added.
He expressed confidence that the Congress would also come to power in the Mangaluru City Corporation in the coming days. He said the party would conduct a thorough review of its performance in previous elections and identify the reasons for its defeats.
“I will work continuously to strengthen and build the party. My support will not be limited to any one community; I will strive to win the confidence and support of people from all communities. My sole objective is to restore the Congress to its former glory in this district. Strengthening the party organisation will be my top priority,” Poojary said.
