Mentor of Yuva Brigade, Chakravarty Sulibele, had planned to hold the cleanliness campaign in the surrounding area of the Sri Krishna Math and the roads leading to the Math. Chakravarty Sulibele earlier mentioned on his Facebook page that Yuva Bridge wanted to clean the streets of Udupi because they had been “polluted” during the “Chalo Udupi”, programme which was held  on October 9. The organizers of Chalo Udupi raised objections for the comments of Yuva Bridge and demanded to book a suo – moto atrocity case on Sulibele and other prominent Hindu outfit leaders who had delivered derogatory statements against the Dalits.

Earlier Many BJP leaders and other Hindu Outfit leaders extended their support to Kanaka Nade on the social media. On Saturday the district police had denied permission for the ‘Kanaka Nade’ cleanliness campaign planned by the Yuva Brigade led by Chakravarty Sulibele. The district administration clearly mentioned in the letter that there is no permission to hold the Cleanliness drive in places mentioned by the Yuva brigade.

Later Chakravarty Sulibele said that they will respect the order of the District Administration but will carry out the cleanliness drive inside the Temple premises. On Sunday, Shri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji inaugurated the Kanaka Nade programme. Around 200 Yuva Brigade activists who came from across the state cleaned the Sri Krishna Temple premises, Rajangana, Go Shale and the Parking area. The Brigade workers painted the public walls and decorated it with artistic drawing. Surprisingly those who extended their support for the Kanaka Nade from the Udupi district did not show up at the Sri Krishna Math area.

After the cleaning, all the activists took out a march to the Car Street and gathered at the Kanaka Mantapa. Shri Rajashekharananda swamiji of Vajradehi Math Gurupura and Pejawar Swamiji garlanded the Kankadasa Statue and later all the activists were served meal at the Sahapankti Bhojana

When Mangalorean.com contacted a BJP leader of the Udupi district he said that we had extended our support for the Cleanliness drive organised by Chakravarty Sulibele because the Swacch Bharath campaign was initiated by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The organisers of Kanaka Nade did not contact any of the leaders of Udupi district. We are still morally supporting the cleanliness drive, he added.

Meanwhile, the members of Damanithara Swabimani group alleged that the Pejawar Swamiji and the Yuva Brigade group have violated the orders of the District administration. They have now decided to submit a memorandum to the superintendent of Police.
