Karnataka Sangha Sharjah Marks India’s 80th Independence Day with Blood Donation Drive in Dubai
Dubai: Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, in collaboration with FOI, organised a blood donation camp on August 16, 2026, at the Dubai Health Authority Headquarters in Al Jaddaf as part of the celebrations commemorating India’s 80th Independence Day. The initiative stood out as a meaningful tribute to the occasion, reflecting the values of humanity, community service, and social responsibility.

Rather than confining the national day celebrations to ceremonial observance, Karnataka Sangha Sharjah chose to honour the spirit of Independence Day through an act of service that directly contributed to society. The blood donation drive was conducted under the inspiring message, “Service to the Nation is Service to Humanity,” and added another significant chapter to the organization’s long-standing record of social and humanitarian engagement.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from many donors who came forward voluntarily to donate blood and support a cause that can help save lives in times of medical need and emergency. Their participation underscored the importance of compassion and collective responsibility in building a caring society.
The event also served as a reminder that even a single unit of blood can offer renewed hope to patients and families facing critical situations. In this way, the camp highlighted how community celebrations can transform into powerful platforms for social good and humanitarian outreach.
Consul General of India in Dubai, Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, attended the programme and formally inaugurated the blood donation camp. On the occasion, he was felicitated by Karnataka Sangha Sharjah President Vishwanath Shetty and Director of the Managing Committee Praveen Kumar Shetty, in the presence of members of the Advisory Committee.
The smooth and successful conduct of the camp was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Directors of the Managing Committee, members of the Advisory Committee and the Executive Committee of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah. Their commitment from the planning stage to the execution of the event was widely appreciated by attendees and organisers alike.
The organisation also expressed heartfelt gratitude to all voluntary blood donors who participated in the camp, along with members, volunteers, well-wishers and collaborators whose support helped make the initiative a success.
By integrating a humanitarian service initiative into its Independence Day observance, Karnataka Sangha Sharjah reaffirmed the timeless values of unity, service and compassion. The organisation demonstrated that patriotism may be expressed not only through celebration and remembrance, but also through meaningful acts that directly benefit the wider community.
