Kasaragod: Two Arrested for Fleecing Aspirants with False Promises of Singapore Jobs

Kasaragod: Rakesh (28) from Palakunnu in Uduma and Abdul Latif (35) from Nettanige in Mulleria in the district have been arrested by the police for duping several aspirants with false promise of jobs in ships in Singapore with high salaries.

At least ten more persons are suspected to be involved in the racket. They are reportedly absconding. The police are looking for them.

On the basis of their promises, a large number of job aspirants had pawned their gold and borrowed huge amounts to pay the gang. For each visa, Rs 1.25 lakh had been charged. Payments had been made in November and December 2014.

The police acted on receiving complaints from Sajit, Avinash and Ajit from Kasaragod and Ashraf, Rajendran and Mohammed from Thiruvananthapuram.
