Kathua Rape Case, CM of Jammu & Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti should Resign – Muslim Central Committee

Mangaluru: “The Muslim Central Committee condemns the brutal rape and murder of 8-year-old girl in Kathua and also the rape incident in Unnao. These incidents have made every Indian bow their heads in shame. Even the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has not reacted to the rape and murder incident. Being a woman, a mother and a sister she did not take any action against the accused. She should resign from her post”, said the president of Muslim Central Committee K S Mohammed Masood in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on April 21.

Addressing the mediapersons Mohammed Masood said, “The Kathua rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl has left the country reeling. Advocate Deepika Singh Rajawat who came forward to fight this case faced threats, even the Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association stopped her from fighting the case. Those who have supported this crime should be punished including the BJP MLAs.”

Masood further said, “To take action against the accused, the case should be heard in a fast court and the accused should be hanged to death. In London Prime Minister Modi said, “A rape is a rape and should not be politicised”, but what is he doing to stop such crimes? Even the United Nations has condemned this brutal act. The ambassador of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Amitabh Bachchan thinks ‘it’s terrible to even talk about’ Kathua rape incident. But what are these leaders are doing?”

Masood also said, “All the Muslim organizations should work for peace We should not heed to the rumours which lead to violence. Let us all join hands to get justice for the victims”.

Muslim Central Committee leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Haneef, Ashraf, Abubacker, Basha Tangal and others were also present.
