Kedige Pratishtana to Host ‘Laxmi Bhaskara’ Awards 2026 and Bhaskara Samsmarana Centenary Event
Mangaluru: Kedige Pratishtana, Mangaluru, will host the centenary celebrations of “Bhaskara Samsmarana” (1926–2026) and the presentation ceremony of the prestigious “Laxmi Bhaskara” Awards 2026 on Sunday, August 16, at Lions Seva Mandir, Mallikatta, Mangaluru. The programme will begin at 4:30 p.m.
Kedige Pratishtana will honour four distinguished personalities with the “Laxmi Bhaskara” Awards for their contributions in various fields:
Rashtra Seva Nishta: Col. Nitin Bhide (Retd.)
Yakshagana Kala Nishta: Prof. M. Prabhakar Joshi
Chitra Kala Nishta: Prof. Anantha Padmanabha Rao
Krishi Seva Nishta: Sri K. Tirumaleshwara Bhat
The programme will be attended by chief guests, including Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada, and Dr. Yaji Divakar Bhat, Professor, Department of Sanskrit, Srinivas University, Mangaluru.
As part of the programme, five selected students will receive educational financial assistance through the Mangalore Lions Charitable & Educational Trust.
The event will feature a live “Spot Art Creation” directed by senior artist Sri Dinesh Holla.
A cultural dance programme titled “Nandagokula” will also be presented by Team Nandagokula. Members of Senior Chamber International Mangalore Legion will present an entertainment programme.
The programme is being organised in collaboration with Lions Club Mangalore, Senior Chamber International Mangalore Legion, Mangalore Lions Charitable & Educational Trust, Arehole Pratishtana and Team Nandagokula.
