KMC Hospital, Attavar celebrates International Noise Awareness Day

Mangaluru: Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Attavar celebrated the International Noise Awareness Day on 24th April 2019.

Every year, the last Wednesday in the month of April is observed as ‘International Noise Awareness Day’. The aim of this day is to spread awareness about the ill-effects of noise and its impact on our health and life. This Year marks the 24th anniversary of this awareness day. On this occasion, various events were organized by the department such as street play for patients and caregivers at KMC, Attavar and at Forum Fiza Mall for the general public.

A poster display to spread awareness was organized in the hospital building.

The electronic display board at Light House Hill building displayed a video on the effects of noise.

Dr Anand Venugopal, Medical Superintendent, KMC Hospitals Mangalore congratulated the department for observing this day and mentioned that these kind of awareness drives are important for the general public and should be carried out regularly.
