KMC Hospital Mangaluru to Raise Awareness on Early Allergy Detection and Effective Management

Mangaluru: Marking World Allergy Day, KMC Hospital Mangaluru will host a public awareness session on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Tower 2, Ground Floor, KMC Hospital, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle. The session aims to educate the community on recognizing allergies early, understanding their triggers, and adopting effective prevention and treatment strategies.

With allergic diseases on the rise across all age groups, the awareness talk will help participants distinguish between common allergies and more serious allergic reactions that require immediate medical attention. The session will be led by Dr. Udaya Sureshkumar, Consultant – Respiratory Medicine & Pulmonology, and Allergy Specialist KMC Hospital Mangaluru.

The interactive session will cover a wide range of topics, including common allergens affecting adults and children, different types of allergies, warning signs of anaphylaxis, allergy testing, treatment options, allergen avoidance, common myths surrounding allergies, and guidance on when to seek specialist care.

Mr. Pramod Kunder, Cluster Director, KMC Hospital Mangaluru, said, “Community awareness is integral to preventive healthcare. This World Allergy Day, KMC Hospital Mangaluru is committed to educating the public about the growing burden of allergies, the importance of early diagnosis, and timely medical intervention. The programme is particularly beneficial for individuals with lung infections, seasonal or food allergies, parents of children with allergies, senior citizens, working professionals exposed to environmental triggers such as air conditioning, fragrances and dust, individuals with a family history of allergies, and teachers or caregivers interested in learning more about allergy prevention and emergency response.

KMC Hospital Mangaluru invites members of the public to participate in this informative session and take a proactive step towards better allergy awareness and respiratory health.
