Established in 2018, the Konkani Lekhak Sangh Karnataka has been committed to honoring individuals who have made exceptional strides in enriching the Konkani literary landscape. Since 2022, the Sangh has annually selected and celebrated a Konkani writer whose work has had a profound impact.
Mr. Patrick Camille Moras, born on November 17, 1945, embodies a remarkable journey from adversity to literary acclaim. At the young age of eighteen, Mr. Moras began his literary career as a book seller and Associate Editor of Kannik Konkani Magazine. He has since evolved into a prolific author, penning over 800 short stories, 400 articles, and ten novels. Through his Nityadar Prakashan, he has further amplified his contributions by publishing numerous plays and detective dramas, solidifying his reputation as a dedicated and influential figure in the Konkani literary world.
In recognition of his unwavering dedication and immense contribution to Konkani literature, Mr. Moras has previously been honored with the Honorary Award from the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy. The ‘Sandesha Konkani Literature Award – 2026’ conferred upon M. Patrick further acknowledges his outstanding achievements and enduring legacy.
