Kota Police Rescue 20 cattle on way to Slaughterhouse

Udupi: The Kota Police have rescued 20 cattle including 13 Male and 7 female buffalos at Sastan toll gate on Saturday when they were being transported illegally to the slaughterhouse.

The arrested have been identified as Shivananda, Maruti Narayana Naika, Ganesh, Sainuddin, Hamid C H and Sameer residents of Mangaluru and Kasargod.

The Kota Police Station SI Nithyananda Gowda and team while checking the vehicles in Sastan Toll Gate received a tip-off on cattle being transported. Upon seeing the police, those in the vehicles including the drivers stopped the vehicles and took to their heels. The vehicles and the cattle were brought to the police station.

The police rescued Rs 65000 worth male buffalo’s and Rs 35000 wroth female buffalo’s, they also seized Rs 12 lakh worth 12 truck, Rs 2 lakh worth Indica Car and seven mobiles worth Rs 8500 from the accused.

A case in this regard is registered in the Kota police station.
