Doha, Qatar: With the objective of nurturing the Kannada language, culture and heritage among the younger generation of Kannadigas living abroad, Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) has relaunched its Kannada Paathashala with a renewed vision and approach.

Special Training Workshop for Teachers and Parents

As part of the initiative, a special training workshop was organised for Kannada Paathashala teachers and parents by Dr. Purushottama Bilimale, President of the Karnataka Government Kannada Development Authority.

The workshop focused on age-appropriate methods of teaching Kannada, systematic integration of the curriculum and effective teaching strategies to enhance children’s interest and participation in learning the language.

Kannada Paathashala Relaunched During Teachers’ Day Celebration

The reopening of the Kannada Paathashala was officially announced during KSQ’s Teachers’ Day celebration in the presence of Dr. Purushottama Bilimale. The valuable contribution and voluntary service of the teachers who have been dedicating their time to teaching Kannada were also appreciated on the occasion.

The KSQ Managing Committee played a significant role in making the relaunch possible. The committee members put in considerable effort, time and coordination into planning and implementing the initiative, reflecting their commitment to promoting Kannada language and culture among the younger generation.

Regular Classes Officially Commence

The regular classes of the Kannada Paathashala were officially commenced. Sri Shashidhar H. B. delivered the welcome speech.

The programme was attended by Sri Subramanya Hebbagelu, President, Karnataka Sangha Qatar; Dr. Ravi Shetty, Chairman, Advisory Committee; Sri H. K. Madhu, Former President; Sri Anil Bhasagi, Vice President, along with office bearers, Managing Committee members and Kannada enthusiasts.

The dignitaries highlighted the rich history and pride of the Kannada language and emphasised the importance of preserving and passing on one’s mother tongue to the next generation. They also encouraged students and parents to actively participate in the Kannada learning initiative.

To encourage the children and promote a sense of equality and togetherness among them, KSQ provided T-shirts and water bottles to all the Kannada Paathashala students. The initiative was aimed at creating a sense of belonging, unity and equal participation among all the children.

The Kannada Paathashala classes will be conducted every Friday at 9:30 AM, with three levels structured according to the children’s learning levels. The initiative is being continued with the support and cooperation of the Karnataka Government Kannada Development Authority.

Karnataka Sangha Qatar has appealed to Kannadigas residing in Qatar to enrol their children in the Kannada Paathashala and help strengthen their connection with the Kannada language, culture and heritage.
