Kundapur | IMJ Institutions Foundation Day celebrated with grandeur

Kundapur: The Foundation Day of the prestigious IMJ Educational Institutions at Moodlakatte was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Friday at the institution’s campus.

The institution traces its roots to the vision of its founder and former MP, late I.M. Jayaram Shetty, who established the Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MITK) in 2004. With the aim of providing quality technical education to students from rural areas, his dream has today grown into the IMJ group of institutions, laying a strong foundation for the future of thousands of students.

Former Karnataka Minister and former Chairman of the Backward Classes Commission, K. Jayaprakash Hegde, who attended the event as the chief guest, said that building an institution is not an easy task. He lauded Jayaram Shetty for transforming the educational landscape of the region by establishing such a premier institution in a rural area. He also noted that the institution has expanded beyond engineering into fields like science, commerce, and nursing. He urged students to follow the ideals of Jayaram Shetty, strive for success, and give priority to environmental protection and social responsibility.

R. Upendra Shetty, Founder Chairman of Universal Group of Institutions, Bengaluru, who attended as the guest of honour, praised the growth of the institution. Reflecting on the life and journey of Jayaram Shetty, he highlighted how he emerged as a great leader and encouraged students to make the best use of the institution’s facilities and become assets to society.

Presiding over the function, IMJ Institutions President Siddharth J. Shetty expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the growth of the institution and called for continued support in realizing his father’s vision. Trustees Ram Rathan J. Shetty and Sudhakar Shetty were also present on the occasion.

Academic Director Dr. S.N. Bhat, along with the Dean, principals, vice-principals, heads of departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students witnessed the historic moment. A short documentary showcasing the journey of the institution from its inception in 2004 to its present status was also screened.

The program began with a welcome by Dr. Pratibha Patel, Principal of IMJ ISC. Dr. J. Prakash, Head of the IS Department, and Prof. Rupashree, Vice Principal of the Nursing College, introduced the guests. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Jennifer Menezes, Principal of the Nursing College, while the program was compered by Prof. Rajeshwari Shetty.
