Kundapur: A youth entered the bank wearing a helmet and threatened the bank manager with a revolver for cash and then tried to escape here on March 12.
On March 12, a youth had entered the Syndicate Bank, Haladi Branch, Kundapur wearing a helmet. Soon he started to create a scene in the bank. When the bank manager came out of his cabin to check, he took out a revolver and threatened the bank manager and other staff and demanded Rupees 5 lakh in cash and gold ornaments.
He also said that he has planted a bomb in the bank and threatened to blast it. The Bank Manager Jayanth Adiga with the help of attendant Sandeep after a struggle nabbed the youth along with the revolver and other belongings. While the bike parked by the youth outside was inspected his identity card with his name mentioned as Ajith Shetty was found. The youth was later handed over to the Kota police. A case has been registered in the Kota Police Station.
