Lucky Stiff – A Delightfully Funny Musical Comedy Directed by Leila Alvares in City on 15 Sept

 Mangaluru : Every time Leila Alvares-a origin of Mangaluru and now settled in Bengaluru, and who is the Director of CAUSE Foundation organizes a musical play in Mangaluru it gets “Better and Better” and the audience gets “Larger and Larger”- and we have seen it in the past at her earlier plays, and this time the audience will be much BIGGER when she once again brings her musical show at Town Hall on Sunday, 15 September 2019 at 6 pm.

The CAUSE Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to promoting local talent with profits going to worthy local charities. We have successfully enthralled audiences for the past 20 years in Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Chennai, Coorg, Goa and Mumbai. The cast and crew (all of whom are either students or professionals in other fields ) volunteer their time and effort freely towards this end. Some of Leila’s past musicals include ‘Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’, ‘GREASE’, ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Sound of Music’, ‘Monty Python’s Spamalot’, ‘CURTAINS’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, ‘GHOST the Musical’, ‘Young Frankenstein’, ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ and most recently – ‘The Addams Family’.

The Director, Leila Alvares, has from the age of 18, actively been involved in all things musical, including conducting choirs, organizing and producing musical events and for the past 21 years, directing Broadway musicals. Based on the novel, ‘The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth’, “Lucky Stiff” is an offbeat, hilarious murder mystery farce, complete with mistaken identities, six million bucks in diamonds and a corpse in a wheelchair which will leave you dying of laughter.

The story revolves around an unassuming English shoe salesman who is forced to take the embalmed body of his recently murdered uncle on a vacation to Monte Carlo. Should he succeed in passing his uncle off as alive, Harry Witherspoon stands to inherit $6,000,000. If not, the money goes to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn…Featuring a tuneful score, an ensemble cast of zany characters and a small rock combo orchestra, ‘Lucky Stiff’ is an audience charmer.

The Cast of ‘Lucky Stiff’ includes some of Bengaluru’s finest old and new singing, acting and dancing talent including Rahael Thomas, Deepa Jacob, Trina Dutt, Arvind Kasthuri, Lionel De Nazareth Tasneem Kera and Prem Koshy among others. And, as always,the shows directed by Ms Leila Alvares are accompanied by a live band, directed by Vivek Menzel as well as vibrant costumes and hand painted sets. And the mesmerizing lively dances that will enthrall the audience are choreographed by Alisha D’Souza, Ritushi VK and Lionel De Nazareth.
