Luke Maxmillion Basketball Tournament at AIMIT Camous of St Aloysius College

Beeri-Mangaluru: The annual LUKE MAXMILLION BAKSTBALL TOURNAMENT was held at AIMIT CAMPUS of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru on 28th Feb., 2020 . Nine teams from various colleges in Mangaluru participated in the tournament. The final match was held at 4 p.m. Dr Malini Hebbar, HOD, English department, St Agnes College was the Chief Guest for the awards function. She congratulated the winning NITTE College team and the Runners Up, St Aloysius College team. She said that she was very happy to have been invited for the match to see the young players bubbling with so much energy.

She asked the students gathered to take part in sports and become fit and thus have good and healthy life. She also thanked Max Rasquinha, the sponsor of the match, for requesting her to be the chief guest for the function. Lestan D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The Basketball tournament is held annually and has been sponsored by Max Rasquinha, alumnus of St Aloysius High School. Lestan D’Souza, MBA faculty, was the staff coordinator of the tournament. Mr Thammiah and Mr Terrence were students’ coordinators.

The tournament was inaugurated by Santhosh Rebello, Dean of the Information Technology section of AIMIT. Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Director, AIMIT, in his speech thanked Mr Rasquinha for his support, and congratulated the winning teams. Quoting John Wooden, the famous basketball coach-“One who scores the basket has ten hands”, he said that any event is successful because of the teamwork, and he thanked Lestan and his team for organizing the tournament with meticulous care
