Malpe’s Sandeep Salian Murder Case in Goa: Woman from Mangaluru Arrested
Udupi/Goa: The Calangute Police in Goa have arrested the prime accused in the murder of Sandeep Salian (40), a resident of Malpe in Udupi district, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a guest house in Calangute.
The accused has been identified as Akshata M.K., originally from Mangaluru and currently residing in Bengaluru. She was apprehended during a police operation in Bengaluru.
According to the police, Sandeep Salian had travelled to Goa a few days before the incident. His body was later found under suspicious circumstances at a guest house in Calangute. Following the discovery, the Calangute Police registered a murder case and launched an investigation.
After an extensive probe, investigators traced Akshata M.K. to Bengaluru and arrested her. Police officials said she would be brought to Goa on transit remand for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
Sandeep Salian had previously worked as a close aide to former Karnataka Minister and BJP leader Pramod Madhwaraj. Although he had stepped away from active politics several years ago, he was recently engaged in the tourism sector, operating a tourist boat service in Malpe.
His body was found on July 1 at a guest house near Calangute Beach. Initially, investigators suspected that he may have died of a heart attack or another natural cause. However, the subsequent investigation revealed that it was a case of murder, leading to the arrest of the prime accused.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are expected to disclose further details as the case progresses.
