Man Arrested for Allegedly Running Prostitution Ring in Udupi Apartment
Udupi: Local authorities have apprehended a man accused of operating a prostitution racket from an apartment in Udupi. The Manipal police conducted the arrest and successfully rescued a woman from the premises.
The suspect has been identified as Ganesh Ganapa Naik, 38, a resident of Jalavalli in Honnavar Taluk.
On July 16, the Manipal police received credible information regarding a woman being unlawfully detained and exploited for illicit financial gain in Room No. 103 of the Mahalasa Emerald Apartments, situated near 20th Cross, Ishwaranagar, Herga village. Responding to the tip, law enforcement officials executed a raid, leading to the rescue of the woman and the subsequent arrest of Naik. He has since been presented before the court.
Authorities have reported that another individual implicated in the case fled the scene and is currently at large.
An official case has been registered at the Manipal police station, and investigations are ongoing.
