Mandira Bedi second to celebrate ‘The Spirit of the Zoya Woman’

New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS) It was a day dedicated to elegance and sensuality as actress-designer Mandira Bedi showcased her sari collection in the capital for the first time as the second in the “The Spirit of Zoya Woman” series.

The initiative, by Zoya, the chain of exquisite boutiques from the House of Tata, in a series of conversations over coffee with iconic women achievers who exemplify the brands’s approach to its creations. The muse for Wednesday was Mandira.

Asked how does it feel to be termed as “Woman achiever”, Mandira says that she has never looked in that way.

“I am flatterred and thankful but I don’t look it that way. I just feel that I have long run of 20 years in the industry. Even now it not like that I am doing designing because I have nothing else to do. I am in the middle of many things and its nice to be busy. Lot of variety going on in my life and one of it is motherhood,” Mandira told IANS.

The actress-designer showcased a preview of her autumn-winter collection of saris amogst some of the known faces of capital’s party circuit including Ramola Bachchan, Sanjay Kapoor, Jas Arora and many more.

The evening saw the guests interacting with Mandira and Sangeeta Dewan, the master designer of Zoya. They were also seen enjoying the 16 sari looks presented by models, complemented by the finest pieces from Zoya’s two new collection titled ‘Lace’ and ‘Wedding’.

Mandira used bright colour palettes to showcase a collection that had lot of freshness attached to it.

“I am strong with colours and I know my colour palette will be red, pink as I do well with those colours,” said Mandira who was also excited to showcase her collection for the first time in capital

“I have done an exhibition here but not showcased here so it was first of its kind. We have showcased in Kenya, Singapore, Dubai so we travelled the world… now the capital. London is the market we have never tapped yet but we would love to do that,” she said.
