Mangalore: Our Lady of Miracles Church Celebrates Pentecost with Confirmation of Fifty Children

Mangalore: Our Lady of Miracles Church, Milagres, recently marked the Pentecostal season with a solemn and joyous celebration as fifty young members of the parish received the sacrament of Confirmation. The ceremony was presided over by the esteemed Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha, who was warmly welcomed by the eager children upon his arrival.

Bishop Saldanha engaged the confirmands in a discourse on the profound significance of the sacrament, emphasizing its role in strengthening their faith and deepening their connection with the Church. The children actively participated in the interactive session, demonstrating a keen understanding and enthusiasm for their spiritual journey.

The Confirmation ceremony culminated in a Holy Eucharist, concelebrated by Bishop Saldanha and the Parish Clergy. The sacred event was further enriched by the presence of Mr. Sylvester Mascarenhas and Mrs. Ida Crasta, who served as Godparents, guiding and supporting the children in their commitment to the Christian faith.

As a symbolic gesture and a source of continued spiritual guidance, each child was presented with a Holy Bible. Accompanying the gift was a heartfelt message encouraging them to immerse themselves in the Word of God by reading a chapter daily.

The parish extended its heartfelt congratulations to the newly confirmed children, expressing hope that they will continue to grow in faith and serve as beacons of Christ’s love in the world. The event served as a powerful reminder of the enduring strength and vibrancy of the Catholic faith within the Milagres parish.
